Mr. Christensen brings more than 23 years of real estate experience to the Somera asset management team, including 11 years of direct asset management experience. Before joining Somera in February 2007, Mr. Christensen served as Regional Vice President of Asset Management -- Third Party for General Growth Properties Inc., overseeing GGP’s West Coast, Hawaii and Midwest regions during the last four years. Mr. Christensen was responsible for overseeing asset management of more than 4.2 million square feet of California, Chicago and Hawaii retail space generating more than $40 million of net operating income annually. He was also responsible for launching GGP's third party management business in Hawaii and successfully secured two new leasing and management contracts as well as two straight leasing contracts which remain in effect as of today.
Mr. Christensen received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and has earned the ICSC designation of Certified Shopping Center Manager.
