| Mr. Herthel’s responsibilities at Somera include overall portfolio management for the Somera Realty Value Fund, investment financing and disposition and supervision of joint venture partner relationships, and client reporting. Mr. Herthel has been active in the commercial real estate business for 10 years. Prior to joining Somera, Mr. Herthel served as Vice President for Tamkin Development Corporation where he was responsible for business development and acquisitions throughout the United States. Mr. Herthel spent more than eight years with AEW Capital Management, LP, a Boston-based institutional real estate investment advisor with approximately $33 billion of assets under management. While at AEW, Mr. Herthel served in various capacities including Assistant Vice President for acquisitions and asset management throughout the Western United States and as Associate for a series of real estate private equity funds dedicated to providing growth capital for REITs and real estate operating companies. Mr. Herthel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance & Development, from the University of Southern California, and an M.B.A with an emphasis in Finance and Management from The Marshall School at U.S.C. Mr. Herthel is a licensed California Real Estate Broker and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute. |
